PDT Model

RRD’s Product Development Team (PDT) model is structurally and functionally similar to a biopharma PDT with seasoned experts who are fully engaged in product development strategy, planning and decision-making, and all product development functions managed by an internal core team.  The model is designed to hold the RRD core team fully accountable and responsible for the success of the development program.  The PDT model has been utilized by a number of companies to successfully advance product candidates through Phase 2 human proof of concept (hPOC).

PDT Features:

  • Combination of seasoned experts to ensure the right development strategy and an experienced core team to execute the program
  • Independent role in all sourcing aspects enabling selection of the best mix of CROs and other vendors
  • Internal core teams that identify, qualify, contract, and actively manage CROs and other vendors
  • Full complement of back-office support functions including legal, accounting and administrative as needed
  • Program governance through a Product Development Committee that is highly collaborative with partner companies
  • Need-based fractional FTE budgets with the right team members, but only when needed
  • Fixed development budgets for full program duration
  • Potential for risk-sharing agreements
